Barossa
Valley
The Barossa is a beautiful valley just 60 km n-e of
Adelaide
and covers 40 km in length. It plays host to some
of Australia's leading vineyards and wineries and
its rich German heritage dates back to 1830s. The
area is also renowned for its fine dining
restaurants, boutique style accommodation and the
annual Barossa Vintage Festival. Named after the
Barossa Ranges, main towns in the area include
Lyndoch,
Tanunda with
a strong German heritage, Angaston with a
similarly strong British influence and Nuriootpa which
shares both German and English backgrounds.
